How to Apply and Registered SBI Net Banking
When you open an account with SBI branch or corporate salary account, you will be given a Pre-Printed Kit (PPK) that will have your initial user id and password to login on to your Net Banking for the first time.
PPK can also be mailed to your registered address as well as in the form of SMS, in case you cannot collect it from the branch.
- Visit www.onlineSBI.com and log in using the user id and password.
- If you have received the InterNet Banking Pre-printed Kit, then you are not required to register online.
- An alert message in the Login page will appear that ask you to use the login id and password in the pre-printed Kit (PPK) to login to Internet Banking.
- Click on OK in the Alert Message Box to proceed with the process of setting up your new login id and password. You need to begin by selecting the New User Registration from the drop-down menu.
- Press on Next to proceed with the New User Registration process. You can see a user-driven registration form.
- Begin by entering your account number as displayed in account information containing a letter in the account opening kit.
- Enter the CIF number which is available in your Passbook or in the account statement. Enter the branch code that you will find in your passbook.
- In case you do not know the branch, code uses the Get Branch Code link to retrieve the branch code based on the location and branch name.
- Select your country and enter the mobile number registered in your branch and opt for Full or Limited Transaction Rights or View Rights for your SBI net banking service.
Finally, Enter the Captcha code and click Submit. Now you need to enter the OTP received in your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP and press Confirm. You need to complete the registration process now at this stage. This is the last stage of SBI Net Banking registration process.

First Time New User SBI Net Banking Activation
Without going to the branch, go to onlineSBI.com and click on new user registration.
There are 2 ways of doing it. If you have received the PPK kit from the branch then you do not need to register here, if you do not have PPK kit and have the ATM card then you can register here as described below in the next section on activation of SBI Net Banking next.
You need to have ATM/Debit card. With the help of card information, you can complete the registration process of SBI Net Banking. You can activate the SBI Net Banking only after successfully complete the SBI netBanking registration process for your account.
You need to choose ATM/debit Card option and click Submit. If you do not have an ATM card, you need to visit the nearest SBI branch. InterNet Banking services can then be activated by your branch.
When you visit a branch, the registration process will begin at the Debit Card Validation page and you will be requested to validate the ATM credentials.
Enter you ATM/debit card number, expiry date, card holder name, PIN, enter the Captcha and click on proceed.
Here, you need to generate a permanent username as your system generated earlier user id which came inside the PPK kit will no longer be valid. You also need to reset/ create a login password.
We will discuss both options of setting up SBI Net Banking, first option is without a PPK Kit but using ATM card, second option is by using PPK kit branch registration option.
Confirm the password by re-entering it to confirm and next is to tap the Submit button. Your Registration is successful. You are asked and redirected to the login page to login to SBI netBanking services with your newly created permanent username and password.
The next is to set a profile password by re-entering the profile password to confirm. You would get an option to choose a hint question from the list of common questions to set your profile.
You need to key in the answer for the hint question which you need to remember in case you need to unlock your account in future. Enter your date of birth as on the bank account, place and country where you are born.
Enter your mobile number as registered in your bank account at the time of applying an opening your bank account.
Your profile password and personal will be saved. You need to confirm. You need to press the Account Summary link on the confirmation page. The list of accounts mapped to your username will appear on the screen.
Registration via online SBI Net Banking service for the first time will give you the view rights for basic checking like your account balance or generate the account statement for security reasons.
You can upgrade from view rights to transaction rights by using the access level link under tab named “Request & Enquiries tab”. If you do the registration via branch, you will be given the transaction rights instantly.
If you do not have an ATM or Debit card, choose the relevant option after providing your account number, CIF number, mobile number and services required and tap the submit button. You will be given a system generated username for which you need to set up your password to login and press Submit. You will have to confirm.
The offline alternative process for registration is that you will see your temporary username and pre-printed kit (PPK) number in this confirmation page which will also have a link to the registration form.
You need to Download the registration SBI Net Banking form and print and fill the required details. You will then have to submit the form at the nearest SBI branch to register for SBI netBanking. After the first login, you need to change your system generated login d and password.
You will receive an OTP, once you enter the OTP and submit, you will receive a confirmation message that your new user id and password is set.
Second Option SBI Branch
If you are a first-time customer, you need to open account with SBI. You can open a salary / savings account. You can complete the SBI Net Banking registration process at the branch and activate your SBI Net Banking login and password instantly.
At the branch, you are guided through a step by step process of initialization that you must follow till the end to complete the registration process first time.
You need to fill a registration forms given at the branch by the account opening executive or you can access online from the SBI website. You need to fill it completely and submit it at your nearest SBI Branch or to the account opening executive.
Your registration process will be carried out by verifying all your details and authenticated by the branch. Then your system-generated user id and password will be generated and communicated to you.
SBI Net Banking Login Process

If you have completed the registration process for interNet Banking then you can set the user id, login password, and profile password without going to a bank branch.
Let’s find out how.
- Visit the online SBI home page.
- Under personal Banking, press the login button. Next, click on the ‘continue to login’ button to proceed further.
- Enter the temporary login id and password that you have received after completing the registration process. Click on the login button.
- Enter the username of your choice to use the SBI Internet Banking facility in the future. Please note that this will be your permanent user name and you will not be allowed to change the username.
- Check username availability. If the username is available, then proceed by clicking on the Terms & Conditions checkbox and click on submit.
- Enter the login password of your choice; re-enter to confirm the password in the next box below. And click on confirm.
- It is now time to set the Profile password to be able to profile based transactions.
- Enter the profile password of your choice. Re-enter the same password to confirm.
- Next, select the hint question in the next box. Or you can select a hint answer. If you forget your profile password, then you need to use this hint question and the hint password to set a new profile password.
- Select the place of birth, select your country from the dropdown, enter your registered phone number, and click on submit.
You will receive a confirmation message that your profile password has been successfully set, you may now log in to SBI Net Banking. Click logout from the logout button on the top right corner of the page.

Select the personal Banking if you have savings/salary account with SBI. If you have a corporate/current account then you will select corporate Banking.
Login on your personal netBanking by using your username and password
We will demonstrate the netBanking steps using personal Banking.
Next select ‘continue to login’. Next you need to enter your user name and password, and enter the Captcha and hit the login button below.
On the main menu, you can check
1. My Accounts & Profile
On the left hand side of the screen, you see many options. We will discuss each option, how to use and the usefulness here.
2. Account Summary
You can check account balance here. Once you login, under account summary option, you will be able to see the name of the account holder, name of the branch, click on the link under balance to see the balance that you have in your account.
You can also check the last 10 transactions by clicking on the link given under Transactions.
3. Account Statement
Click on account statement. You can retrieve statement by date, by month, Last 6 months, and FY (PPF Account).
By Date:
Select Start Date & End Date of the statement.
By Month:
Select the year and the month for which you want to retrieve the statement.
Last 6 months:
This option will allow you to retrieve the account statement for the last 6 months from the current date.
If you just want to view the bank statement then click on the ‘View’ radio button. If you want to download it in MS excel format or PDF format, select the button appropriately. Then select the button ‘go’ below.
Select location in your computer where you want to save the file/download and click on save. You can now view the bank statement once the download is complete.
4. Payments & Transfer
Under this option, you will see the options to transfer funds to other accounts. The first option here is,
- Funds Transfer
- Intra-Bank Transfer
- RTGS/NEFT
- Credit Card (VISA)
- IMPS Payments
- NRI eZ Trade Funds Transfer
Quick Transfer (Without Adding Beneficiary)
If you want to send less that Rs. 10000/- then you can do that by selecting this option without adding the transferee as beneficiary.
- Click on Quick Transfer, in the next field, enter the name of the beneficiary to whom you want to transfer money, enter the beneficiary bank account number twice below in each box.
- Select payment option within SBI or other bank transfers.
- If within SBI then enter the amount you want to transfer and enter the purpose of the transfer.
- If other bank accounts, then enter the IFSC code of the other bank account, select the transfer mode as IMPS/NEFT. Select amount, the purpose of transfer, accept terms and submit.
- You get the summary of the transfer, press the confirm button.
- Next, you will get an OTP on your registered mobile number, enter the OTO and submit, you will receive a confirmation message that the transfer of fund is complete.
5. Add & Manage Beneficiary
- If you want to transfer more than Rs. 10000, you need to add the name of the beneficiary by selecting the ‘add & manage beneficiary’ option.
- To add beneficiary, click on the above option, you need to enter your profile password and click on submit to proceed further.
- The next screen will display a whole list of options to select from.
- If the beneficiary, you are adding, has an account within SBI, then select the first option ‘SBI Beneficiary (Account holder of SBI)’.
- If the beneficiary account belongs to other banks, select the second option ‘Other bank Beneficiary (Account holder of other banks)’.
- Under Other bank Beneficiary Option, you need to enter the name of the beneficiary, the beneficiary bank account number, re-enter the beneficiary bank account number, if you want, you can enter the beneficiary address which is optional, you can enter the limit of money that can be transferred to this account.
- Enter the IFSC code and accept the terms and conditions, and submit.
- You will receive an OTP on your registered number, enter the OTP, and submit.
- The beneficiary will be added and it will be activated for the transfer of funds in the next 24hrs. You will receive a message from the bank once the beneficiary is activated successfully.
Funds Transfer to Beneficiary Account
- To Transfer funds to this newly added account, select Payments & Transfers from the main menu on the top.
- If the beneficiary is an SBI account holder, select option ‘Accounts of others within SBI’.
- If the beneficiary is another account holder, select option ‘Other bank transfer’.
- Under other bank transfers, select the transaction type as IMPS or RTGS or NEFT and click on the Proceed button.
- The next option will allow choosing the Transaction type as a person to account via IFSC or via MMID.
- Let’s select IFSC and click on proceed.
- On the next screen, enter the amount you want to transfer, select the purpose from the dropdown.
- You will see the list of beneficiaries that you have added for fund transfer.
- Select the beneficiary to whom you want to transfer the fund.
- Check the box to accept terms & conditions and submit them.
- You will get a summary of the fund transfer. Click on the confirm button below.
- You will receive an OTP that you need to enter and click on Confirm.
- You will receive a confirmation message from the bank that the transaction is successful.

6. Bills Payments
You can select Bill Payments Options from the main menu. You can select various bill payments options from the dropdown, such as View/pay Bills, Manage Biller, SBI Life Premium, Top up recharge, etc.
7. Fixed Deposit
Next Option in the main menu is fixed deposits. You can open FD, RD or close them.
8. e-Tax
Next Option in the menu is e-Tax. You can pay direct and indirect taxes.
9. e-Services
You can link Aadhar card to your bank account. You can go to ATM services to block your ATM card, you can change the limit of your ATM card, you can change your ATM PIN here, you can even request for new ATM/Debit Card.
In this option, you will get various schemes, such as Social Security Schemes where you can apply for the benefit of the scheme from here.
PAN Registration, where you can link you PAN to your account.
10. Request & Enquiries
You can select various options from the dropdown, wherein you can apply for a new cheque book. You can specify how many chequebooks and no. of leaves in the cheque book you want. Select submit and you will receive the cheque book on your registered address.
If you have issued a check ti anyone and do not want to clear the cheque, you can select ‘Stop Cheque payment’ Option from the dropdown.
If you click on this option, you will need to enter the cheque leaf number that you want to stop payment for. Accept terms and click on submit.
By using the aforesaid options and many more, you can manage you your bank account sitting at home/office from your laptop/mobile without visiting a bank branch, such as requesting for a new chequebook, apply for FD/RD accounts online, apply for ATM/Debit Card.
You can even link your Aadhar/Pan card to your account. And you can transfer funds to an SBI or other non – SBI account, and view or download your bank account statement.

SBI Yono App – Registration & Use
The world is going mobile, 96% of the users access their accounts on the mobile on the go. The days of desktop computers or laptops are numbered.
Realising that, SBI has developed an advanced mobile application called YONO, which can be downloaded from Appstore or playstore and quite seamlessly compatible with android and iOS mobiles.
To get started with SBI netBanking facility on YONO, you can now register on the app with the help of ATM Card in Yono netBanking.
First time when accessing Net Banking, you will see a message that customer is already registered for interNet Banking.
You might be wondering when you opened Net Banking with SBI. Don’t worry about it. Generally, when you open account, in the application form you check the box for SBI Net Banking activation but you are neither aware, nor do you know username password.
You will get 3 options on the screen to choose from:
- Login with InterNet Banking ID
- Register with my ATM Card
- Register with Account Details
Clicking on YONO will take you to the state of the art SBI Net Banking app. YONO stands for Your Account at Your Finger Tip or the Yono App.
Yono is your bank on the move. You can check your account balance, Sign in to pay your bills on the go, Transfer money using Fund Transfer, Set Up Automatic Payments, Buy products and financial services such as applying for a personal loan, and do a lot more than just Banking and that too on the move.

1. Yono App Registration Process
- Download Yono App on your mobile. Click on the ‘existing customer’ option below to proceed.
- The next screen will ask “Do you have SBI Internet Banking ID?” If you have interNet Banking ID, click “Yes”.
- Then by entering your interNet Banking Id and password, you can login here. However, if you do not have an Internet Banking ID and password, then click “No”. You can register with your ATM/Debit Card.
- The next screen will display options like “Register for YONO with my ATM Card”. Select the option to register with ATM Card.
- You need to enter the CIF number and Account number and select submit.
- You will receive an OTP. Enter the OTP and select next.
- You need to enter the ATM card number and PIN and click on submit.
- You will get the summary of your bank details on the screen that you need to review before proceeding, once reviewed, click on ‘Next’.
- You need to create a temporary password and confirm the same password by re-entering, and then click on submit.
- You will get a message “You are already registered for the Internet Banking facility. To get a username and duplicate password, please contact your home branch”.
- Click OK. You can use the same pin that you have created to login.
- If you have interNet Banking Id then click on “Yes”.
- You can enter the username and password and select submit.
- On the next screen, you need to give “consent to use MPIN”. Click next to the bottom of the screen.
- The text message tells you that you can log in to your Internet Banking in two ways. The first one by using SBI Internet Banking User di and password and the second method is by using a 6-digit numeric pin (MPIN).
- We will now learn how to set MPIN. For that, we will have to click next from the bottom of the screen. On the next page, you will get the option to set a 6-digit numeric MPIN of your choice.
- Enter the 6-digit MPIN of your choice and re-enter the MPIN and click on next.
- You will now receive OTP. Enter OTP and click the “Next” button.
- You will get a confirmation message from the system “Congratulation! You have successfully registered. Go to login”. Click on the “Go to Login” link.
- Henceforth to log in, you can enter the MPIN.
2. Use Yono App – Step By Step Guide
First, you need to open the YONO application on your mobile. Select the visual option on the screen that says, “existing customer”.
Once you are logged in on YONO APP, the opening screen on the App will display various Net Banking options along with your account balance.
YONO Pay Page Features
By selecting Yono Pay, you can transfer funds to SBI and other bank accounts.
Quick Transfer
First option is “Quick Transfer” where you can transfer up to Rs.10000 instantly without adding a beneficiary.
Bank Account
Second option is Bank account that enables you to transfer funds to your own and other account. However, in this case, you need to add beneficiary before transferring funds.
To transfer funds using a bank account, click on the “Bank Account” option. It will give you two options, Other Accounts or Own Accounts.
You will get the list of beneficiaries that you have already added in the account. Select the beneficiary whom you want to transfer the fund.
Pay A New Beneficiary
To pay a new beneficiary, you can select the option “Pay a new beneficiary” from the bottom of the screen.
You can select Account number or mobile number through which you want to transfer funds.
Choose an option and select next.
You will get two options, SBI Account & Other Bank Account.
If the transferee has SBI account, choose SBI Account or else choose Other Bank Account.
Enter the name of the beneficiary, account number, IFSC, Maximum Limit, Nick Name, and click next.
You need to enter the amount to transfer. Enter remarks, and click on Pay.
You transfer will be complete and you will receive a confirmation message.
YONO Cash
Next Option is YONO Cash. Using this option, you can withdraw money without an ATM Card.
After clicking on Yono Cash, select “Request Yono Cash”. Enter the amount and click next.
Enter the 6-digit PIN.
You get the transaction details to review. Check the box of terms and conditions, and select confirm. You will get a confirmation message on the screen.
Next, go to any SBI ATM Machine, click on Yono cash. Enter the pin that you created on the App. You will receive an OTP that you need to enter, and you can withdraw cash. Note that here you have not used ATM card to withdraw money here.
BHIM UPI
The next option is BHIM UPI. You can use UPI in this option and you can transfer funds using this option.
QR Scan
You also get an option of You can transfer fund by scanning any QR code using this option.
Yono Menu offers to open a digital account, financial products, Shop & Order; Check your best offers, etc.
Recharge
At the bottom of the screen on the App, such as SBI Credit Card where you can pay the credit card bill, Prepaid Mobile to recharge mobile, DTH recharge to recharge DTH, and other Bill Pay options.
Deposits
Another option is Deposits. Click on deposits, you will get options to open RD/FD accounts online instantly without getting to visit a branch.
To Open Fixed Deposits, Click on Create Fixed Deposits. Enter the amount for which you want created the FD. Select number of years, months, days for which you want to open the FD, and click on Next.
SBI Cards
Another option on the App is Cards. By clicking on it you can manage your cards easily.
Clicking on cards option, you will see the details of the SBI cards that you hold. Select the card, and you can see details, such as your card Outstanding, Last payment, Credit Limit, Used and available credit limit, cash limit, etc.
At the bottom of the screen, click on Pay Now to pay your credit card bills.
If you do not have a credit card, you can select “Get a New SBI Credit Card” to apply for a new SBI Credit Card. Next, the app will recommend credit cards for you.
Insurance
You can buy an insurance policy from this option online instantly. If you have already taken any policy, you can link the policy by selecting “Link A Policy:” option.
Investment
By selecting this option, you can find out the details of your investments. If you have not done any Mutual Fund investments, than you can start your investments from here.
